In a repeat of last season’s final, Tom Burns defeated Kevin Smith to win the Glasgow Cup. This time, however, the players served up a 5-goal thriller compared to the single goal scored in the 2025 final.

Burns took the lead but was soon pegged back as the two players battled for control. In the second half Burns moved two goals ahead. Smith did reduce the deficit to 3-2 but he had little time left to find the equaliser which would have taken the match to shots.
Burns probably just about deserved the win and he still has the chance in the Association Cup to secure a cup double. To do that he will need to overcome both John Halpin and Danny Gregory.
