Club night 27/1/14

Dave Butler moved into second place and a step closer to retaining the Championship with seven points tonight. He is nine points behind Tom Burns with five games in hand. Colin Day is five points adrift of Butler with the same number of games played. Willie Fleming’s draw with Butler keeps the challengers’ title hopes just alive. Burns had a convincing win over Dave Houston but the latter’s victory over Baver Bari kept him in sixth place ahead of Ronnie McKenzie.

Burns 3 0 Houston
Fleming 1 1 Butler
Butler 4 2 Bari
McKenzie 0 4 Butler
Houston 2 1 Bari
Fleming 3 1 Phee
Halpin 0 4 McKenzie

  1. Willie was worth his point,he played well.and Dave had a real struggle against Baver.an unlikely source but would have really opened things up.

  2. Baver knocked me out of the Edinburgh GP 4 or 5 years ago too! I can only recall one comfortable victory – I seem to bring out the best in him. Willie played well, draw was a fair result. Very nice play at the death to get the equaliser.
